Virtual Private Network Project Proposal

The University of Houston’s College of Technology Research Network is a high-speed campus-wide telecommunications network that connects six research laboratories to international and regional research and educational networks. Many research projects and educational activities using this network require remote access to devices and applications. A Network Access Policy needs to be implemented to guarantee that users can access the network according to their roles and permissions.

UH and Juniper Networks

Juniper Networks and the University of Houston signed an agreement to deliver advanced routing certification courses based on Juniper routers in the University of Houston College of Technology AT&T Lab starting Spring 2009. As part of the agreement, Juniper Networks donated $50,000 of routing and switching equipment.

AT&T U-Verse

20081114 - The University of Houston College of Technology AT&T Lab became the first university lab in the world to have AT&T U-Verse. This installation follows the signing of an agreement between the University of Houston Residential and AT&T for the delivery of AT&T Advanced TV, High-Speed Internet, and Voice over IP to the Calhoun Lofts, a new apartment complex under construction, and the Moody Towers Residential Hall. The installation of U-Verse in the University of Houston will be the first of its kind in the world.
